When I entered law school, I knew that I would be different when I graduated. I had no idea how different.
Maybe it had to do with my first big case. It was bizarre. It became fodder at cocktail parties. I would relate each piece of it and folks would beg for more. Hmm, I thought. Maybe I was onto something. Maybe people actually cared about my story.
I didn’t write my story down immediately. I wasn’t sure exactly how I was going to do it. Should I change the characters wildly? Should I make it happen somewhere more exotic? Should I, as some agents and publishers suggested, add more sex? More violence? More grit? Should I make the heroine less plucky? Less likeable?
I did none of those things. This is my story, more or less. It is based on a real life case, but the names and details have been changed to protect the innocent - and the not so innocent. I chose to keep it based in the greater Philadelphia area because this is my home and it really is key to my experiences and my characters.
My plan is to post a little of my story every day (or so) on the web. I hope that you enjoy it. And your comments and suggestions are certainly encouraged. Happy reading.
