Katie Brown is a small town girl in busy Philadelphia, PA. Fresh out of law school, and in need of cash, she takes a job with a solo attorney in suburban New Jersey. When she is given her first assignment, what appears to be a routine estates matter turns into something more: she stumbles into a world of corruption and pay-offs involving big business, casinos and City Hall. Along the way, she struggles to make sense of it all, while studying for the bar and sorting out her love life.
